david trubridge Sola pendant light 80 cm caramel
Natural flair spreading pendant lamp Sola with bamboo shade The pendant lamp Sola has the same geometry as the lamps of the series Floral and Coral, which were also created by designer David Trubridge. The English-born designer, who now lives and works in New Zealand, draws on the beauty of his surroundings in his new home country for his designs. As an advocate of eco- and slow-design, the creator of wonderful furniture and lamps relies on the use of sustainably sourced materials as well as a low CO2 consumption in the processing and transport of his works. Therefore, the pendant lamp Sola, whose shade consists of numerous elements made of bamboo veneer, is also delivered folded. Detailed assembly instructions are included. Sola is part of David Trubridge's Icarus installation in Milan, based on the Icarus legend about a boy who flew too high and came too close to the sun. Sola embodies the sun here, and the individual shapes look a bit like solar flares. When the lighting is switched on, the result is not only an aesthetic lighting effect, but also a decorative play of shadows in the surroundings. The complete Icarus installation is now in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Energy efficiency class:A++
