Designer wall light Poppy with effective flowers
Wonderful Poppy wall light – a blossoming flower As the sun sets and nature is shrouded in darkness, the flowers close their petals as there is no longer any light to face. And yet, there is one flower that opens its petals instead of closing them, as soon as the artificial lighting takes over the job of the sun and provides brightness. Admittedly, we are not talking about a real plant here; but it is very similar to a real flower. Meet the Poppy wall light – a floral lighting object that has been created by the trio of designers Ulrich Beckert, Georg Soanca-Pollak and Peter Thammer. This light offers a fantastic new interpretation of lighting and the effect it can have. Switching the wall light on instigates a very special spectacle. The filigree petals, which have been affixed to both of the hand-blown glass capsules, unfurl within a few minutes to reveal the light shining in the centre of the glass. The warmth of the bulb has a special effect on the filigree pieces of metal. It is not just any kind of metal that has been used here; rather a bimetal that is sensitive to heat and expands as it warms. Poppy makes the most of this physical effect and opens its flower as soon as the light is switched on. Meanwhile, the two flexible arms, which are covered in fabric, serve to make the wall light a flexible light source that can take on many different forms. The wall light can be reconfigured as required to offer great versatility and a light source that is wonderfully unique. Energy efficiency class:C
