Christian Dell, a trained silversmith, teacher of industrial design and master craftsman at the Weimar Bauhaus from 1922-1925, created the legendary lamp series in the 1930s. Today, it is manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, the Danish lighting company founded in 1972 by carpenter Fritz Hansen after he obtained a trading license for Copenhagen, and which has been synonymous with exquisite design ever since.
