FRITZ HANSEN Kaiser Idell Luxus matt grey brass
Kaiser idell™ Luxus design table lamp with matt colour finish and elegant brass frame This table lamp, whose exquisite Bauhaus design dates back to 1936 by Christian Dell, is not only a comfortable source of light for many occasions, but also looks off as a furnishing accessory of an upscale living style. Kaiser idell™ Luxury is part of the legendary lighting series Kaiser idell™, which began in 1931 and includes various table, wall floor and pendant lamps. The table lamp is equipped with an asymmetrical shade made of metal with a matt colour finish, which is enthroned on an elegant brass frame. The designer Christian Dell (1893-1974), the creator of Kaiser idell™, was a master of his trade. He first learned to be a silversmith, then studied at the Saxon School of Arts and Crafts and in 1922 became the workshop master of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus Weimar. In 1926 he moved to Frankfurt and took over the direction of the art school there. His designs were always innovative and future-oriented. The Kaiser idell™ lamp series (created in 1931) - including the Kaiser idell™ Luxus table lamp launched in 1936 - is produced by FRITZ HANSEN, the lighting company in Denmark that has been in existence since 1872 and is also known beyond the borders of Denmark for its high-quality design products on the furniture and lighting market.
