Shiny design hanging lamp Orient™ - Design: Jo Hammerborg Fine craftsmanship characterizes the Orient™ pendant lamp. Its shade is made of warmly shining copper, its organic shape is individually turned by hand in a wooden form. The suspension is adorned with a decorative detail of rosewood. First issued in 1963, the lamp was reissued in 2013 through a collaboration between the family of Jo Hammerborg (1920-1982) and the Danish company FRITZ HANSEN. Designs by Jo Hammerborg were until now only available as antiques, with the Orient™ pendant lamp, which fits perfectly with the trends of the 21st century, the work of Jo Hammerborg remains accessible to a wider range of buyers. Jo Hammerborg was actually a silversmith and then studied at the Academy of Art. In 1957 he became head of design at the company Fog&Mørup, a job he held until 1980, during which he created 180 lamps with a great sense of form, function and aesthetics, some of which were awarded prizes. FRITZ HANSEN is a Danish furniture and lighting company, founded by Fritz Hansen in 1872, which has developed into a company of national and international renown through high quality craftsmanship and a constant stream of new designs by well-known designers. Design greats such as Cecilie Manz, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Christian Dell, Grethe Mayer and Bodil Kjær developed products for FRITZ HANSEN.
