Elane floor lamp – a shining all-rounder with outstanding functionality The Elane designer floor lamp is a real all-rounder, and this is no exaggeration. It offers so many different special features, characteristics and functions, which are hard to find in other lights. The most important feature should be named first: What may look like a fixed, simple lampshade at first glance, actually stands as the versatile centrepiece of the lamp. Elane is not just a conventional floor lamp, e.g. for use as a reading light or to provide atmosphere near the sofa; it can also be converted into an uplighter with ease. The fabric-covered film lampshade, which has an almost seamless finish, can be rotated 360° so the light can be directed towards the ceiling If required. This allows Elane to provide even, indirect room lighting and thus to fulfil all the requirements of perfect living room lighting. The technology built into this extraordinary floor lamp deserves a mention next. The rear of the lampshade features a switch in the form of a thin pin at a convenient height. It is the cherry on the cake for the lampshade, and is a perfect design element. The dimming function is controlled using a button on the base. Once you have chosen the perfect brightness level, the memory function retains this brightness the next time the lamp is switched on. Elane’s designer Jakob Timpe – a Berlin architect and interior designer – has knowingly designed this floor lamp to fulfil various different requirements. The thin, black aluminium frame, which appears to flow into the round base, stands in perfect contrast to the simple, white lampshade. The entire design is free from style limitations.
