Variant designer pendant lamp Multi-Lite - frame in chrome This pendant lamp is something very special: Its shade consists of metal elements that can be pushed around the central cylinder in different ways, so that a very individual configuration with light emission upwards, downwards or asymmetrically can be created at any time. The creative mind behind this fascinating possibility of living room lighting is Louis Weisdorf (1932-2021), a well-known Danish architect and designer. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, he devoted himself to industrial, graphic and interior design and worked in a variety of fields, including leisure and construction. For ten years he worked as chief assistant to chief architect Simon P. Henningsen (son of legendary lighting designer Poul Henningsen) at Copenhagen's Tivoli amusement park. In the late 1960s he founded his own design studio in Copenhagen. During his active time, he worked with other renowned designers, including Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and Le Klint. The pendant lamp Multi-Lite is produced by the Danish manufacturer Gubi, which has specialized in the production of high-quality furniture and lamps since its foundation in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen.
