GUBI Pedrera PD2 floor lamp with dimmer black
Pedrera PD2 floor lamp - a new classic from the manufacturer Gubi The Pedrera PD2 floor lamp is part of a series created in 1955 by the designer Barba Corsini, which includes a table lamp, a pendant lamp and a glass table in addition to the PD2 floor lamp. Corsini created the design as part of the implementation of the commission to transform the attic of the Casa Milá (also called "La Pedrera" - the quarry) built by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona into 13 modern maisonette apartments. The cylinder shape is inspired by the shape of the building's chimneys. In 1991, Casa Milá was renovated; gallery owner Joaquim Ruiz Millet came up with the idea of reviving the Pedrera series in a modernized version and sought contact with Barba Corsini. After the original designs had been revised, the re-edition of the Pedrera series was created, which is produced and distributed by the renowned Danish design product company Gubi. The Pedrera floor lamp blends in with the most diverse living arrangements. The light of the lamp used is emitted vertically and gently through the tiny point-shaped light outlets in the metal shade.
