When designing Kimono, the designer Matteo Ugolini had in mind to let the object, despite the model of a heavy cylinder, seemingly float weightlessly in space and merge with its surroundings. For this purpose, the exterior pendant luminaire Kimono is made of a dense fabric of fine fibreglass fibres, which protrude freely into the room at the fraying ends.
