Floor lamp Koral made of 100% organic material - made in Germany The floor lamp Koral by Tagwerk is an example of how sustainable consumer goods production can work: Koral is made from a biomaterial (waste from wood processing, paper production and corn starch) in a 3D printer. The production causes no waste, no noise and is done entirely with green electricity. And when it comes to design, the Koral floor lamp has to match other floor lamps that have been produced conventionally. The shade creates a cosy ambience when the light is switched on. And even when switched off, the lamp is an aesthetic decorative object in the living room. Tagwerk, a German company, is the first to use 3D printing for mass production of everyday consumer goods. Also based in Germany, the company supplies the raw materials needed, which include wood waste. From this, Tagwerk creates the biomaterial lignin, which is free of petroleum and toxic substances, and is just as durable as other materials to boot, namely wipeable, rainproof, UV-resistant and heat-resistant up to 80°C.
