Folded shade: Designer pendant lamp Donut The name of the pendant lamp Donut is program: the shade of the lamp, made by hand from plastic, is reminiscent of the round shapes of the American pastry. The fact that only LED or energy-saving bulbs may be used in combination with this pendant light already reveals that its shade is particularly sensitive and should be treated with care. Because only in this way can the quality and the filigree folding technique be preserved and give pleasure for years. Lise Navne has developed this model for the traditional Danish designer lamp manufacturer and has taken one of the most famous classics of the manufacturer, namely the so-called "fruit lamp" by Kaare Klint, as a model. In doing so, she has further developed the so-called cross folding and pushed it to the limit, so that such a round and shapely lamp could be created from folds. Le Klint is a Danish lighting manufacturer, which is not only the court supplier of the Danish Queen, but also can look back on a remarkable and traditional history. Today, the folded lampshades of Le Klint are known all over the world. They got their start when, at the beginning of the 20th century, architect P. V. Jensen-Klint built a lampshade for a kerosene lamp. This folding lampshade was the beginning of the family business, which, however, was founded by his son, Tage Klint, only in 1943
