LE KLINT Lamella 1 designer hanging light alu
A handmade lampshade – the designer hanging light Lamella 1 The two designers Hallgeir Homstvedt and Jonah Takagi have taken inspiration from nature for the Lamella 1 hanging light, namely from mushrooms. On the underside of a lot of mushroom heads there are lamellas, or fins, similar to those found in the appropriately-named Lamella light model. All over the spherical lampshade are pleats that look like lamellas. The white, slightly glossy and translucent film was pleated and moulded specially by hand. Le Klint's traditional pleated lampshades have a long tradition. The two designers Hallgeir Homstvedt and Jonah Takagi, who run studios in Oslo and Washington, have incorporated traditional design and Plica pleating techniques into their contemporary designs and given them a modern twist. The first pleats were already being handmade by the well-known family of architects at the beginning of the 20th century, until the company officially started with the opening of the first shop in Copenhagen in 1943. Le Klint still sees itself as a manufacturer which combines traditional crafts with modern design. Energy efficiency class:A+
