A hand-pleated lampshade – the designer floor lamp Snowdrop The Snowdrop designer floor lamp is a creation from the designer trio of Harrit-Sørensen + Samson and produced by the Danish lighting manufacturer Le Klint in black varnished metal with a plastic lampshade. Lampshades made using a traditional pleating technique are the hallmark of this lighting company, which was founded in Denmark by Tage Klint in 1943, and which to this day produces hand-pleated lampshades and other lighting creations from a number of well-known designers in their factory in Odense on the island of Funen. Here, traditional craftsmanship is combined with modern production processes. Each lamp is an individual piece, because up until now it has not been possible for a machine to master the special pleating technique, meaning that all lampshades are still hand-made.
