Hand-pleated lampshade – the Snowdrop designer table lamp in black The trademark of the lighting company Le Klint has always been its unique lampshades, that have been hand-pleated ever since the company was founded. The company’s history dates back to the early 1920s, when the architect and civil engineer P. V. Jensen Klint made his first self-designed pleated lampshade for a paraffin lamp. The entire Klint family then worked on refining this lampshade, which became the family’s traditional gift given to friends and relatives. Tage Klint, the creative head of the family, made a business out of the Klint family’s domestic craftsmanship in 1943. He founded Le Klint and opened a business in the Danish capital Copenhagen the same year. The "Fruit Lantern" and the "Kiplamp" are some of the creations by the architect, craftsman and designer Tage Klint which are still among the company’s best-sellers today.
