Dimmable designer floor lamp Equatore with LEDs The LED floor lamp Equatore has been created by the designers and architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti who work on major construction projects as well as designing furniture and other items for the home, such as lights for example. They designed the Equatore series for the brand manufacturer Fontana Arte. Its name - equator in English - is based on the innovative position of the light bulb. Equatore’s light source does not, as you might expect, sit within the lampshade but is rather located in the panel at the bottom of the lampshade. The chrome-coloured band which runs around the glass body is reminiscent of the equator. The LEDs which are built into this panel emit their light both upwards into the lampshade as well as downwards. The illuminated lampshade and the light which is emitted downwards create the illusion that this is an ordinary floor lamp whose lampshade is lit up from the inside and, at the same time, emits light downwards and into the surrounding area. - Dimmer included.
