Poppy designer wall light with special effect
Artistic Poppy designer wall light with a certain extra “Our light designs are sensual – and useful. And they always bring a wink and a smile to the face of onlookers”. This is how lighting designer Georg Soanca-Pollak describes the mission of his work. Together with his business partner Ulrich Beckert, he has already complete numerous light projects and designed numerous lights, which meet the highest standards in terms of appearance and technology. Together with lighting designer Peter Thammer, the duo have created the Poppy wall light, and you don't need to look twice to see that it is the realisation of the aforementioned mission. The sensuality of this lighting object can be found in its light sources – the heart of any light. With Poppy, these bulbs sit hidden in two black-violet objects made from hand-blown glass. As if the lighting, which shines outwards through the extraordinary coloured glass and illuminates the glass body in soft violet, is not sufficient, the light has another string to its bow. In order to mimic the look and effect of opening and closing flowers, thin pieces of bimetal have been affixed to the opening of the glass body. The material is made from two layers of different metal, and it reacts to heat. The result is that Poppy’s “petals” open up within a few minutes of the light being switched on thanks to the warmth of the light bulb spreading to the pieces of bimetal. If it hasn't already, this is the time this miraculous wall light brings a smile to your face. Useful? The light is useful thanks to its very nature. The effective, adjustable accent lighting that Poppy emits, thanks in part to its two flexible arms, is a welcome highlight in any room in the home. Energy efficiency class:C
