VERPAN Fun 10DM pendant light chrome
Pendant lamp Fun 10DM by VERPAN with iridescent mother-of-pearl chains The hallmark of VERPAN's Fun range of luminaires is the iridescent chains of mother-of-pearl discs that hang down from the metal rings in cascades of varying lengths. Four metal rings form the basis of the pendant lamp Fun 10DM and provide the necessary space for the countless shell discs, which are connected to each other by small stainless steel rings. Fascinating colour nuances and the play of the iridescent mother-of-pearl surfaces with the light shine draw the attention of the observer to the Fun 10DM when the light is switched on at the latest. And why this pendant lamp is a real gem, not only visually but also acoustically, becomes clear when a small breeze brushes against the shell chains. Like a wind chime, the harmonious, soft sounds of the gently moving shell plates fill the room. The creations of Danish designer and architect Verner Panton stand out for their originality and unusual designs. Especially in the 1960s and 1970s Panton revolutionized the international world of furniture design with his avant-garde designs. The seamless material plastic and the play with transparency became his central design elements. In 1964, the iridescent biomineral mother-of-pearl aroused the interest of the Dane in his search for a material that would amaze the observer in its interplay with light. Inspired by this, he designed the lamp series Fun, which is characterised by Panton's play with transparency on the one hand and the fascinating properties of mother-of-pearl - the "Mother of Pearls" - on the other.
